Window Coverings, Blinds, Shades and Curtains at Bamboo Blinds

Major Window Blinds Manufacturers

Even if you buy window blinds or shades from a local shop or online blinds retailer, chances are the components will be made by one of the industry’s large manufacturers.

It’s important you ask your retailer or installer which manufacturers’ products they sell and what warranty and options are available.

With so many retailers and installers, you could be fooled into thinking you’re getting something other than what you really want, so we’ve put together an authoritative review of the major window blinds manufacturers to help arm you with the right information to help you make the best possible investment in blinds or shades.

Our guide to window blind manufacturers provides you with all the information you need about each company, along with links to their web sites, where you can find comprehensive information on their products, online catalogs and installation and maintenance guides.

Bali Blinds

Actually called Springs Window Fashions, the company sells blinds, shades and drapery hardware under three distinct brand names; Bali, Graber and Nanik.

One of the blinds industry’s leading manufacturers, Springs Window Fashions offers custom designed window coverings including roman shades, blinds, cellular shades, wood alloy blinds and shutters, pleated shades and sheer window shadings.

The Bali brand is offered to do it yourself consumers who want the finest window blinds and shades in the latest colours and styles but don’t want to pay the high price of having window treatments measured and installed, preferring to save money and do the work themselves.

The Graber brand sells window blinds, shades and drapery hardware through a network of dealers and decorators, who do complete measuring, fitting and installation.

The Nanik brand offers premier wood blinds.

Hunter Douglas developed the first aluminum blinds in 1946 and has grown to include four major lines:

  • Duette® honeycomb shades, an energy-efficient honeycomb design developed in 1985 in response to the energy crisis.
  • Silhouette® window shadings, introduced in 1991, which set a whole new standard of style and beauty with fabric vanes suspended between two sheer fabric facings.
  • Luminette® Privacy Sheers, introduced in 1994, which offer the beauty of sheers and the privacy of soft draperies.
  • Alouette® Light Louvers, which combine the architectural beauty of a wood shutter, the soft fabric finish of a shade and the light control and privacy of a traditional blind.

With headquarters in Holland, the Hunter Douglas Group manufactures and markets two principal products lines (window coverings and architectural products) across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and Australia.

Their products are sold worldwide by authorized Hunter Douglas dealers and can be purchased online or locally.
